About Me

The short version:  I'm a 26yr old new wife (married Oct 2008) and new mother (Aiden born Oct 2009).  I blog about my random thoughts, my favorite shows, my fun finds, tips and tricks, funny thoughts or the stress in my life.  I enjoy coffee, chocolate, peanut butter, watching bad reality tv shows, reading romance novels and snow.

The longer version goes as follows:

I was born and raised in the pacific northwest, and have loved the mild weather and beautiful scenery the west has to offer.  I had an eating disorder for several years and still struggle with poor body image but realize that being happy is what is most important.  After high school I went to the University of Washington in Seattle.  I went for a Communications major, but left with a Sociology degree.  I attended school there from 2001-2006.  While I went to college I worked at a small internet cafe on campus and I was a student coordinator or shift supervisor in no time.  I adored making coffee and to this day still miss it.  I had my share of interesting relationships but none of them were the right one.

In 2006 after graduation I got a job working for Alaska Airlines.  I started in Seattle in the phone reservations office, I wasn't a big fan of being tied to an earpiece all day and I was having problems with my eating disorder thanks to a bad breakup.  I put in my transfer to work as a ticket counter agent at the aiport.  It was quickly approved and I moved back home in May 2007.

I dated off and on, a bunch of short lived relationships and in Jan of 2008 I met Kris.  Kris worked as a ramp agent at the airport and would always look up and smile and wave to me.  For a while I didn't think much of it and then a light just clicked on.  I had a mutual friend arrange a first "date" at a local bar and he kissed me goodnite when he walked me to my car.  After that night we were inseperable.  We were a "couple" the next day and by April we were engaged and set to be married Oct 25th of that year.

We had a big beautiful wedding and even took some pictures at the airport since that is where we met.  It was everything I dreamed it would be when I got married.  We took a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas for our honeymoon.  When I returned to work in November I was told as of Jan 2009 I'd be out of a job thanks to the economy.  We had talked about not trying, but not preventing starting our family right away.  Come January when I lost my job we started thinking maybe we should hold off... well it was too late.  Enter a positive pregnancy test Feb 17th (after 3 weeks of being pregnant and getting negatives...)

I had an easy pregnancy, a bit of morning sickness, but since I wasn't working it wasn't much of a problem for me.  I did weekly updates with stats and fun facts while I pregnant and you can click on Growth Updates in the lables to go and check those out.  Aiden was born via an emergency c-section on Friday Oct 9, 2009 at 4:14am.  He weight 6lbs 15oz and was 19.5 inches long.  He was beautiful, perfectly healthy and had a full head of dark hair.

I am currently staying at home and enjoying being a new mom.  I am trying to learn how to be the best stay at home mom, and wife I can possibly be.  I am learning to sew and got a great sewing machine for Christmas (thanks hubs!) and I am enjoying blogging and baking cookies.  That's my story in a nutshell.
