Aiden is 15 Months old!

Where did my baby boy go?  He's all grown up now and I can't handle it!  He is soo much fun at this age, and for the most part really well behaved.

Aiden is:
85% for weight at 27.6lbs
99% for height at 35.5inchs - almost 3 feet!  He has always been 99% for height!

He took his shots like a big boy, they were in his arms this time and it made it worse.  He actually saw it happening and the look on his face was awful, he was soo upset and the big tears.  The nurse had a hard time holding him to give him his shots, she said "boy he's strong!" and Kris had to help hold him.  Also the nurse forgot that he was only 15 months old!  The Dr. said he's doing great, and would like him to be off the bottle at 18 months.

-   He got his first real haircut, bye bye curls.
-   He has 14 teeth cut
-   He wears mostly 24 month and 2T because he's soo long.
-   He laughs when he farts
-   He copies you when you burp, cough or make any other mouth noise
-   He ate part of his first crayon this week, hello blue poop!
-   He managed to open his bedroom door by himself yesterday
-   He can go up and down stairs standing holding the wall/the rail or you hand with one hand
-   He can climb up onto EVERYTHING - desks, beds, toilets, tubs, bar stools etc, climbs down too
-   He sits in chairs likes a big boy to eat, doesn't like to use his booster or high chair
-   He can tell you what he wants, he will grab your arm and pull you and then point or just stand and point
-   He still won't sleep through the night consistently which sucks for us
-   He hasn't eaten much if any baby food in months, he still likes the Gerber snacks though
-   He can open all boxes, latches, locks
-   He turns on and off the lights and knows "on and off" if you ask him

-   Here is a list of words he can say:  Bye, No, Yes, Woof Woof for dog {he makes the sound}, Nana for banana, mama, Dad {he yells this often}, Yeff {as in uncle Jeff}, Bra {as in uncle Brock}, he says Lola sometimes and has said "Lita" which is his Lola's name, all done, duck, uh-oh, good girl, thank you, hello, ahh {like to open his mouth and eat", nigh nigh, he has said a few phrases like "that one", "right there", he knows "book" and bath he says "baff", he says "ha" for hot, he understands sit, lie down, bring it to me or "share".  That's just the things I can think of off the top of my head.

11 Months?

Whoops!  In my busy mind I missed the 11 month post.  Not much new to report.  He walks more than crawls.  He can get up from sitting on his butt without a second thought.  He throws, he stomps his feet and fake cries when you make him mad.  Here are some pictures of little man, who looks more like toddler every day, being a sickly kiddo this week.

9 Months!

Aiden is such a big boy these days.  He is certainly not my little baby anymore, he is much more my toddler.  He is doing soo many amazing things that surprise me daily.  I feel like he has always been, and is still, a bit ahead when it comes to all his milestones.  It makes me one proud Momma to brag about him!  It's fun too because has 2 cousins that are 3 and 6 months older than him and he is constantly advancing them and surprising the relatives.  I would be lying if I didn't say I loved it a tiny bit.  He is such a ham and shows off for anyone.  He smiles when he sees a camera and has such a strong personality.  Here are his stats and some of his latest fun facts.  Pictures to come in a seperate post.

Height:  32in {99%}
Weight:  25.1lbs {96%}

-  He eats almost every table food we do.  With the exception of too tough meat, PB, honey & strawberries of course.  {he got the okay for pb and strawberries today though!}
-  He can stand on his own if he pulls up on something first.  He is trying to go from sitting to standing now though.
-  He has 8 teeth, all in the front.
-  He knows when something is "hiding" and will look for and find it {see yesterday's post}
-  He dances to music when it comes on, and if he doesn't like the song he shakes his head "no" until you change it to a different song.
-  He shakes his head "no" and will push things away {like food or toys} if it's not what he wants.
-  He can climb up the stairs VERY quickly.
-  He says "mama" and "dada" or "daddy".  He also says "ba" and "nana" which we though meant banana because he eats them soo much.  Now he says "nana" a lot when he is getting cranky, so I'm not so sure anymore what it means for him.
-  He can "walk" using his push toys or pushing on a bucket or a chair across the floor.
-  He is great at his pincher grasp and can pick up his favorite treats cheerios and mini marshmallows .
-  He sleeps from about 9-10pm until about 7:30am most nights and if at all he wakes up 1 time around 3am.

Aiden - 7 Months! THE BEST PICS INSIDE!

Wow, every month seems to go by quicker and quicker.  He is just growing up so fast it makes me happy and excited, but yet sad!  He seems to be much more like a toddler than a baby these days.  He crawls and moves around very quickly if he wants something.  He tries to pull himself up on everything.  He makes his way from your lap to the floor if he wants down.  He "talks" a lot and even said bamama this weekend - which I will take as a real attempt at "mama".  Even Kris said "I HEARD THAT".  It made me smile.

I don't think he has put on much weight, if any at all.  Since he's been eating more table food {see the food list on my sidebar} and crawling I think everything has started to slow down.  I would guess he is now about 30 inches tall!  He sits like a pro and now takes a bath in the real tub and sits up the whole time.  He loves taking walks outdoors and we often take him on the back porch before a nap or bedtime to help calm him down.  He has even seen blue jays and hummingbirds.  He talks to the hummingbirds too.  It's very cute.  He has also taken to coughing and gagging himself for attention.  Then he stops as soon as we pay attention to him.

Here are some pictures my wonderful husband took outside on Saturday.  It was his first time playing in the grass and he really seemed to love it.  He didn't even try to eat the grass!  Kris took about 50-60 pictures for me, but I tried to just pick my favorites to share.  Some make me want to cry, others make me giggle.  ENJOY!

6 Months!

6 Months!

I can't believe it's already been half a year since Aiden was born.  It feels like it was just yesterday.  Isn't that the cliche' that all moms say?  Well I now understand it!  In 6 more months I'm going ot be having a 1st birthday party - that is just crazy and exciting all in one!  I would be lying if I didn't say I have already starting thinking about birthday party themes.  For example he is a huge Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan, but I also thought orange and blue would be pretty and boyish, but the orange would be great for an October party... who knows.  Anyway let's go over his latest milestones shall we?

Height: 19 1/4 inches long (97%)
Weight: 22lbs even (98%)

He can roll over both ways like crazy
He can "scoot" himself around but not crawling yet
He can sit for up to a couple minutes on his own before falling over
He trys to pull himself up all the time
He talks all the time like his mom
He recently learned to blow bubbles with his mouth
He is a fan of hitting, hitting your hands, his legs, the highchair, his toys, the cell phone to light it up, the remote controls.... you get the point
He will grab your glasses off your face in 1.5 seconds
He loves all solid foods and has started trying some table foods
He wears all 9 month clothes and some 12 month items
He is in size 4 diapers already
He is starting to "throw tantrums" when he wants something or doesn't want to be put to bed - this means he kicks hard (sometimes the side of his crib) and screams until you look at him, then he puts on the charm and smiles.
He reaches for people to pick him up
He recently learned he can eat his toes - this happened on the 9th, exactly 6 months.

Holy Big Baby! 4 Month Check-up & Professional Pics!!

Well boy oh boy Aiden is growing like a weed!  There is certainly no doubt he is a healthy little guy and that he will probably be an athlete of some sort.  He is 18lbs 8oz and he is 27 1/2 inches long.  The nurse couldn't believe he grew 4 inches in 2 months, she measured him twice.  I wasn't surprised though, we knew he was getting long.  He has strong legs too - he can stand on them easily, loves his jumperoo, that's why we guess he'll be an athlete.  He's sturdy and energetic and is strong.  That's my boy!  He was 97th percentile for both height and weight.  At his 2 month he was 88% for weight and only 65% for height.
He took his shots (3 of them) like a big boy, he screamed more this time which was hard for me, and Kris covered his ears because he was afraid to hear it.  Made me sad.  The other big part of the appointment was that I have noticed his littled foreskin had started to stick and it kinda "hides" if you will more than it should for a circumsized baby.  Soo the Dr said it was totally normal that sometimes the skin sticks to itself so he did a quick *gasp* yank - Kris looked away and Aiden just got big eyes - and all is well again.  We have to go back to using vaseline each diaper change to keep it from resticking.  Not a big deal but he said if it sticks again we will just wait until he is potty trained to correct it again.  I guess it has something to do with the skin and moisture in his diaper (probably because he's chubbier so he has a little bit of fat to stick around).

Other than that kiddo is perfect.  Got more instruction for solid foods and he's allowed more than I expected which I am sure he will just love.

I am going to add some of his 3.5 month Olan Mills pictures.  They are super cute, so enjoy!

Aiden is 2.5 months?!?

Wow - I have a 2 and half month old. I know every week I act surprised, but really I am. It's just soo unreal to me that my son is growing up this quickly. Some highlights of our week include he is working on sitting up more. If you grab his little fingers he will try and pull himself up. Of course I help him and then he can sit holding onto my fingers (not my help) for a long time. Then he tries to push with his feet and stand. It's great to see how much he is trying to test his own strength.

Last night was AMAZING. After our 2 weeks of bad sleeping habits again (we were back to sleeping in the rocking chair, hello week 1) last night we GOT SLEEP. Now, this week we were getting 4-5hrs at a time which is much loved, but LAST NIGHT he ate at 11pm. We were all in bed, Kris and I in ours and Aiden in his next to us, by midnight. I woke up at 630am and looked over and realized that Aiden had not gotten up for his normal 330am bottle. Nope, he was still sound asleep. I closed my eyes again and figured he'd wake soon... we got out of bed at 810am! WOWZA! We got 8 hours of sleep. Now that's what I call sleeping through the night! I only hope we repeat this from now on. Okay I know that's a bit much to ask... but even once a week would be a nice refresher!

Also this week I won $22 bucks worth of Enfamil checks from another mom on thebump. Yay me. That's an entire can. I was very excited about that.

I guess that's it for mr. man this week. He's starting to outgrow some of his 3 month clothes and starting to fit in some 3-6 and 6 month clothes. Kids sizes really shouldn't even have months written on them, they really make no sense at all! *le sigh*.

2 months!

Well here we are, 2 months. I can't believe I've been a mommy that long already, it seem unreal. Today we had Aiden's 2 month appointment and he did very well. Stats are great: 13.075lbs, 23 1/4 inches long, 39cm head circ. This puts him in the 65th percentile for his height and 88th percentile for his weight. That means that for example 88% of babies weight less than him, and 12% his age weight more. Dr. said he is a "sturdy" boy, but is healthy and moving right on track. He was pleased.

I of course asked a bunch of questions but received good answers and of course everything I mentioned was normal and just fine. Yay. Aiden had to get 3 shots today (and 1 oral medicine) and he was such a trooper! I held his little hands and was kissing his cheeks. The nurse was soo quick about them but he screamed bloody hell none the less. He did that face turns purple, stop breathing, kind of scream - made me sad! He stopped as soon as mommy picked him up though.
A bottle to wash down his Tylenol....

Fast forward an hour and we are home... poor little thing is just crying on my shoulder. Now it's not any cry we've heard before - it's not a hungry, sleepy, gassy, fussy cry, it was a flat out obvious "I don't feel good" cry. Broke both Kris' and my hearts. Tylenol kicked in finally and he's sleeping on me right now, but it was just soo sad to hear this cry. I don't look forward to his 4 month appointment where we get round 2 of shots. Not to mention he could be fussy or act hurt or be just fine the next day or two - we will just have to wait and see.

Us now, see his bandaids.....

Aiden wasn't the only one to get a shot today though. Mommy and daddy were both offered, and of course accepted, the swine flu vaccine from the ped's office. Only cost us $20 bucks each too, and no pesky line around some public building with a crap ton of others wanting the shot! Woot. We could have had the nose spray, but Kris said "If Aiden is getting a shot today, we should too". So a shot we both got. It was a family bonding experience.

*side note here - Aiden just smiled in his sleep (he always does this is nothing new) and it made me feel a bit better, at least in his nap his little thighs don't hurt him!*

8 week post...

8 week update coming Wednesday... we have our 2 month check-up that day so I'll have official stats for you! Here is a pic to tide you over... this was a 0-3 outfit, clearly we have moved on to size 3 months... it cracks me up. Note the short sleeves, the pants riding low so they aren't short and the shirt that rolled up over hit little gut. His face says "seriously mom?"

7 weeks!

Sleeping is going much better this week. He is sleeping about 5-6hrs at a time in his own bed right next to mine. We are only getting up only once at anywhere between 2-4am then going back to bed. I'll take it! We are finishing up the size 1 diapers we have then it's time for size 2's. He is already wearing 2's at bedtime after he wet the bed 2 times in one night from leaking through diapers. Crazy! We are also almost all in size 3 month clothes, very few 0-3 are still long enough. He is playing with at looking at rattles more now. He tries to bat at his hanging bear on his swing too.

We took him to see Santa at the mall this week. He was awake, and happy. He wouldn't look right at the camera, but I don't think his first "santa" pic turned out too bad at all! Makes me smile. I can't wait to see year after year of these lined up on my fireplace mantel!

Now, I know you all will think we are bat shit crazy, BUT... we swear he said "daddy". NO JOKE! Today he had been having alone time in his swing for about an hour. Kris and I were decorating the patio and cleaning the kitchen, doing laundry etc.... All of a sudden we hear what sounds enough like "daddy" to stop both of us dead in our tracks! We looked at each other with our mouths dropped, in shock. I know, I know, he's just making sounds... but you people didn't hear it! Then he started to fuss, I told Kris he wants him and sure enough he stopped once in Kris' arms. Too funny. That has been our life this week. We are enjoying our fun moments and sleep. Plus with his great sleep Kris and I have had some time to be together, alone, uninterrupted... wonderful!

My Papa came over this week and spent a bit of time holding Aiden. When he got here Aiden was in a dead sleep, about an hour into his nap, and I made the decision to pick him up and hand him to my papa. I fully expected this to lead to cranky baby, but boy was I wrong! Aiden was wide awake and started smiling and playing with my Papa. It was soo wonderful to see and my Papa just loved Aiden smiling for him and asked me to take pictures of it to print for him, which I did. Once Papa left Aiden fell back asleep instantly, I was amazed!

OH and we measured Aiden, or tried to best we could while he was asleep, and he is about 22inches long now. I also weighed him on Wii just a couple days ago and he was 11.2lbs. Love my pudgy boy!

6 Weeks!

Wow, I can't believe we are at 6 weeks already. This kid is just growing soo quickly! He is getting chunky, it's cute so see little chubby cheeks. He is full on smiling now and we are working on that sleeping in his own bed thing. Still rough, but some nights it works, others we are up all night.

(This is him "sleeping" on his own - he kept looking at me confused. Normally the pillow isn't there of course for his safety, but he was obviously not sleeping and we were obviously sitting in the dark watching him. Note his side position...his doing, not mine! )

No new updates on little man, I should weight him on wii again and dig out the tape measure and see how long he is. Perhaps I'll do that in the next day or two and update for you all, and for my own knowledge of course. I can tell you that he is starting to find his hands more, chews on them when he isn't hungry for example and he is also leaving them "open" instead of all balled into a fist more. I got him to hold a toy today and he seemed to enjoy that for the 2 seconds it lasted. We also have been doing story time in the rocking chair and he likes to look at the pics and "talk" back while I read to him. Super cute, but only lasts for a short book for now or halfway through a Dr. Seuss. He can roll halfway over, from his back to his side, so I find keeping him on his back while he sleeps is getting harder every day. He also played in his bouncer by himself and talked and hit the toys this week! It's soo amazing to see him discovering new things.

I went to my 6 week appointment yesterday though and have updates in that department. I was cleared for all activity (you know, the good stuff and bubble baths too!) and cleared to go back to "work". This means I can start collecting my unemployment again which will be really helpful to us financially. Also I am down 15-20lbs depending on which scale we go by. I got my annual out of the way (it was supposed to be in Sept while I was still pregnant but Dr said let's wait) and I got my IUD placed. I'm giving Mirena a try. It didn't hurt one bit, not to get too graphic on you ladies, but I didn't even know when she was done with the pap and did the IUD - it was that painless and quick. Love it. Now, umm, the threads are a different story. They shouldn't call them "threads" more like "thin wires", they aren't exactly soft thread material for those who are wondering. may need to go get those trimmed shorter - we will give that another go and see about that later. I'll just leave it at that, but OUCH for the hubs! Anyway, I hope we are happy with this option once we get used to it.

Thanks to fellow blogger Alicia, I can now update my twitter via texts which I didn't realize I could do. So for those of you who follow, you just may get more updates now! Yay! Okay, that's it's for the 6 weeks update...

5 weeks!

As of yesterday my big boy was 10lbs 6oz according to Wii Fit. Crazy! No wonder he has outgrown his nb diapers and clothes! We had to go out and get him 0-3 month clothes. His 3 months clothes are still a bit on the big side so now he has some in between clothes. He's such a spoiled little boy! He is becoming much more alert, he has started enjoying being in his swing while he is awake and looking at the little bear that floats above his head. Yesterday we also put the mirror bar on it and he enjoyed looking at that too. He was being fussy and we couldn't figure out what was the problem, we put him in his swing and he was fine. He didn't want us to hold him, THAT was the problem! Sad! Last night at bedtime he wanted to just lay next to me not have me hold him. That made me sad too, but then an hour later he woke a bit and gave me the "hold me" look and I wrapped my arm around him and he slept another 3 hours. *sigh* Still my little boy!

Today he has been awake all morning. He was such a happy baby! Daddy and him were playing games with their feet and cheeks and nose and Aiden smiled a ton in response to playing AND we got our first giggle out of him! Oh it just made my day! I can't wait to hear it again. He has smiled before today but not this much, it was always a "was that a smile?" while changing him or something like that. Today was smile after smile while playing. I can't wait to actually catch it on camera. Wednesday we went to Olive Garden to celebrate Veteran's Day with my dad and he was a good boy out in public too. Didn't even fuss when he was awake. We also went shopping, big trips that is - as in a couple hours at Target and Walmart, and he was such a good boy. I feel soo blessed to have an easy going baby.

That's about it for his update. I don't have any new stats just the fun day to day stuff. Enjoy some pics of course!

4 Weeks!

I can't believe I have been a mommy for a month now! Aiden has been such a blessing. He really is such a wonderful baby! He sleeps 5 hours at a time (3-4 on a bad day and 6 on a great day) and eats 6oz when he wakes up. None of this newborn sleeping 3 hours and eating 3oz business. We like his schedule much better, we feel lucky! He isn't a crier at all either. He will fuss a little, and he will scream when he doesn't want to have his clothes taken off, but he is not the type to just cry for no reason. It's soo nice.

Switching to formula has been such a blessing for us. I feel like a different person. I enjoy sitting down and feeding him a bottle, I am no longer dreading his feedings. Also we are all getting more rest because Kris and I can share the duties and relax more. I'm so glad I finally made the choice, even Aiden seems to enjoy his bottles. He cries "hungy" (no r) when he is hungry. Kris and I swear he does. No one else hears it or believes us yet, but we swear EVERY TIME he is hungry he cries the word HUNGY at least once. Too cute.

4 weeks also brings his first outing without mommy and daddy. I had a wedding to be in this last weekend, which will be another post all together, and he got to spend time with his grandparents. My mom watched him on Friday, and Kris' parents watched him for 6hrs on Saturday! 6 hours! I did really well being away from him that long, I missed him of course, but he was fine and I knew that. He is such an easy going baby that all his grandparents said it was the easiest job to do. He didn't even poop for Lolo & Lola on Saturday, he saved it up until we were home.

According to my Wii Fit Aiden is probably about 8.5lbs as of Thursday I think it was? I'll weigh him again tomorrow. Anyway we had to go up to size 1 diapers today. All weekend he had poop and pee explosions and blowouts in his newborn diapers, so up a size we went. Now he has a bit of saggy crotch going on, but the extra room means no more poop everywhere!

That is about all for his updates. He loves his bath time more these days, I think it may become a nightly routine in the future. Hope you enjoyed the pics!
