8 Questions x2

Ashley from Kiwi's & Cocktails tagged me for these questions....

1. If you won a free, expenses paid trip to any ONE country, which one would it be?
Hmm this is tough - Ireland

2. If you could redo college (undergrad) for free, would you choose the same degree?
Yep.  I loved my school {Go UW!} I loved my classes and degree.  Perhaps I would have ACTUALLY used my degree...

3. Would you rather live in the City or the Country?
Hmm, I like both for different reasons.  I do think there is something special about the country.  Endless fields and trees and mountains.  The sounds of crickets and seeing the stars clearly every night, catching firefly's... But maybe just a country area 20 minutes from the city so I could still go get sushi??

4. Would you rather run 5 miles or bike 10?
Neither?  I only do physical activity that is behind closed doors... like the neighbors can't see me wii boxing through the windows and no one can see behind the bedroom door!

5. Do you already have your future children’s names picked out?
Yes.  Well, sorta.  We have a girls name picked out - Ellie Rose for those who are curious, but boys names are tough.  Aiden was easy we knew it before we got married, but thinking of a second one is a struggle.  We are toying with Owen lately.

6. Are you team Bill Compton or Eric Northman (If you don’t watch True Blood, you can skip this question)
I don't watch this show.  However, I am TEAM JACOB!!

7. What is your favorite TV show? If you want you can say which is your favorite show whose season just ended and one that is about to start? Like for me, True Blood is ending, but House and Modern Family will be starting soon.
Well I love me some Big Brother and am very sad that I am watching the finale now - go Lane!  I am very excited though for Grey's and Criminal Minds and Parenthood to return.

8. What do you think is the most important detail of a wedding, that you attend? For example, The DJ/band/music, cake, ceremony vows, main meal, open bar, etc?
I guess I'd have to say the ceremony - that's what the wedding really is right?  I do think that good food and music is important though for friends and family to have a good time celebrating with you.  I know people still mention our wedding meal and we've been married 2 years now.  That clearly was a GOOD meal!  Open bar is the least important - I hate people who go to celebrations just to get drunk.  We don't need booze to enjoy ourselves.

Katie at Third Times A Charm wanted me to answer these questions:

1. What is the weirdest dream you have ever had?
I have this repeat dream about Killer Whales.  I've had several of them, but the idea is always the same - they are attacking me or waiting to.

2. What is your favorite weeknight dinner recipe?
Oh my mom made this crockpot rosemary chicken and potatoes recently that was TO DIE FOR - can't wait to have it again!

3. If arranged marriages still happened, who would you choose for your child?
I would pick someone who made me laugh and who I would want my own daughter to be like.  If you can't get along with your MIL you are in trouble!

4. Who is your favorite author?
Danielle Steel.  Sad truth, I've read more of her books than anything else.  I've read a lot of Mary Higgins Clark too.

5. What is a song that speaks to how you feel right now?
Every Day by Rascall Flatts.  Some of the lyrics that speak to me:  "I drive myself crazy tryin' to stay out of my own way.  The messes that I made, but my secrets are so safe.  The only one who gets me, yeah, you get me, It's amazin' to me... how every day, every day, every day, you save my life.

I come around all broken down and crowded out, and you're comfort.  Sometimes the place I go is so deep and dark and desperate, I don't know, I don't know how every day you save my life.

6. What is one of your favorite photos? (post it!)
This was the first picture that Kris and I ever took together and to me it's perfect.  We both look soo happy.  And sexy!  I want ot be that skinny again.  This was our first real date.

7. What is your favorite movie?
The Notebook

8. What is one of your favorite activities to do as a family?
Games or puzzles.  We used to do "family nights" and everyone would get together once a week, eat and play card games or board games.  Kris and like to do puzzles together too, although it always turns into a competition of who did more of the puzzle.  lol  I just like quality fun family time.  As far as my little family of 3 goes, the zoo was my favorite time yet.

Goodness those were some good questions!  Now I must think of my own 8 to pass along for answers!  Here we go...

1.  What is your go to snack food?
2.  What do you do to be creative?  Scrapbook, draw, write, make crafts... besides the bloggy thing please.
3.  Who is the one person no longer in your life that made the biggest impact on you {good or bad just say which} - they can be living or dead, just no longer someone you have contact with.
4.  What did you want to be when you grew up?
5.  What book are you currently reading?
6.  What is you favorite part of the Christmas holidays?
7.  How do you take your coffee?
8.  Do you fold and put up your laundry right away or let it pile up?

I pass this on to:

I've been struggling with myself. :(

At my dr. appointment last week we decided my current dose of meds was the right one for me and we would just keep it as is for now.  My only concern was that I have been having trouble sleeping.  My dr. recommended that I start taking my meds in the morning instead of right before bed and see if that helped before we tried sleep aids.  So I promptly started that night in hopes of it working out well.

It hasn't.  It's made things worse.  I had a little better sleep one or two nights, but not much of an improvement, and my mornings suck.  You see, by the time I would normally get up I was in a good mood, my meds had been working for hours.  I felt like I was "normal" for lack of a better term.  Well, since I switched to meds in the morning, I've been lacking that feeling.  I wake up cranky.  I wake up not in the mood to enjoy my coffee.  I am lacking my desire to blog, both write and read them.  I feel like I take my meds asap when I wake up but they take until 1pm or so to really kick in and make me feel like I'm doing okay.  It sucks.  My hubby, mom and Aiden have all noticed a slight change.

I made the decision today after a particularly bad morning, the worst in a while, that I would rather give up sleep and feel peaceful in the morning.  The possibility of better, non-medicated, sleep isn't worth giving up half my day.  I think I am going to give a sleep aid I try as well.  I can't imagine getting a good nights sleep AND waking up feeling good.  It sure would be nice.

I just thought I would take the time to type out my thoughts.  I just had a minor fight with Kris over stupid things, I am sipping wine and starting to relax again.  I think I'll go take a hot shower before bed too.  I just didn't want to go to bed with all these thoughts stuffed in me and thought I owed my very supportive and loyal blog friends a little explanation for lack posts this week and comments.  I've been trying to read through your blogs, but I've just not been myself.  So hopefully after a few days back on taking my meds at night I'll start to be my usual self in the am and can get back in the swing of things!  Stick with me...

My 1st Blogiversary!!

HAPPY 1ST BLOGIVERSARY TO ME!!

Have a treat ladies to help me celebrate!  Doesn't that look good?  I'm drinking coffee and now craving something sweet!  I wanted to do something special to thank of of you for coming along on this journey with me.  I wanted to do my first giveaway, but that idea sort of fell through.  I tried to contact people with etsy shops or small businesses, I put out an announcement on my blog etc.  No luck.  I'm sorry ladies, I just don't have anything crafty to offer you myself.  If anyone is interested in making that a possibility stll please do contact me.

Thank you to all my new readers who have joined me on this journey in the last week.  The D-List blog party has been wonderful!  It has been wonderful getting to know even more great and witty mom's.  If you are new I encourage you to read some of my favorite posts {link on my sidebar} and get to  know me a bit more.  Thank you to those who have been around from teh beginning.  I feel like we are old friends now and some of you I think of more than I think of my non-internet friends!

When I started this blog I did it mostly to "fit in" on thebump.com because all the cool moms had a blog.  Then I quickly realized I had to write for myself or it was just pointless.  That's when the blog took off.  I started documenting my day to day life, keeping everyone up to date on my pregnancy and Aiden growing up.  These days I also use my blog as a form of therapy.  Since having PPD I have learned that sometimes the best support is in written form.  Putting my feelings down helps me understand them better.  The ladies I have met online have been such amazing support.

This blog has also been a way for me to share a different side of myself with my family.  My hubby supports my writing, my mom has always known my desire to write and calls to complain when there is nothing new posted for her to read on her lunch break, my dad was one of my first regular readers.  Most recently my mom-in-love Lita has started reading my blog.  She tells me she is proud of me and that I'm soo smart, I feel special that I can share it with her too.  It's really been a bonding experience with my family that I just didn't expect.

I hit 100 readers this week and I was soo honored that that many people want to experience my life with me and to follow along on my journey.  In the next year I hope to continue growing readers and finding ways to interact better with all of you.  I hope to help other moms and to share support with those who need it.  So refill your coffee mug, and sit back for what I hope will be another wonderful year.

Thanks again ladies for being around.  You all mean a lot to me, your kind words make me smile everyday.

Blog Hop Party 2010 - Welcome!

D-Listed blogs is hosting a blog party! This is just a nice little way for other mommy blogs to mingle and get to know each other.  Find someone they have something in common with, find someone new, find an old friend.  The first step is to write up a little welcome and hello.  So stick around, join it at the link above, and get to know me better!

First off you should grab a big fresh cup of coffee.  With Hazelnut creamer if you want to be cool like me!  I started blogging mostly for myself.  I'd see a few other mom blogs and decided that since I was newly laid off and newly knocked up I should write about it.  Almost a year later here I am with almost 100 readers!  I can't believe it.  I feel soo very lucky that that many people care about what I have to say.  It's wonderful to me that some of them have even been around from my start when Aiden was just a little kicking frog in my belly.

Allow me to back up more and point to you a few important posts of my life.  You can start out right up top where my ABOUT ME is located.  Check that out to hear about the hubs and how we met and fell in love.  It was a whirlwind really.  The short version is we met, it started with a smile.  We said I love you after 2 weeks and were engaged after 2 months.  We were married on our 9 month anniversary.  We were married 3 months when we found out Aiden was on his way.  You can read more about what my marriage means to me right HERE.  Aiden was born just weeks before our first wedding anniversary.

You can read about his arrival HERE.  He has been our pride and joy.  He is already 7 months old and you can see a few posts back that he is already pulling himself up to stand and cruise on things!  We are going to have an early walker on our hands!  What a bright child he is, plus is he super cute.  We made one beautiful boy if I do say so myself!

A huge part of who I am these days is Postpartum Depression.  I struggled quietly for a couple months before I finally realized what I felt wasn't just normal stress.  I wrote a very difficult and honest post about my personal story HERE.  Please read it and don't hesitate to ask questions or get help.  I feel like a better mom by asking for help and taking care of myself.  I'm still healing, but everyday is a little easier or makes me a bit stronger.

In conclusion if you stick around my blog you will find I post way to many pictures of my growing son.  I mostly do this for myself, so I apologize if it gets old to you.  I ramble a lot.  I drink coffee more than I should.  I struggle with my weight {check out my weight loss blog - link in my sidebar to the right!} and one day I will write my story of the eating disorders I have overcome.  I love my family, even my in-laws, I love Coach purses and I feel blessed for all I have.  I'm often witty and talk about reality tv, and you will find me sometimes sharing a bit too much information.  I hope to see you all stick around, I love comments and love to share with my readers.  I hope to get to know you all better!

{if you don't have auto reply on your comments please leave an email addy - I love to respond to each one!}

Bloggy Awards!

I really do love awards, I don't always feel I deserve them, but really appreciate others sharing them with me.  I got 2 this last week, one I have already received so I'll acknowledge it but I'm not going to do it again.  Then other is new to me and I will pass it along!

Here are the rules.... First thank the person who gave it to you {done this below!} next is you share 7 things about yourself that no one knows about. Then nominate 15 bloggers who are worthy for this award.

Thank you to Really I'm a Mom.  :)  Much appreciated.

7 Things...

1.  I am a messy person but really love my house clean.  I stress all the time about it being messy.  I love cleaning it like I did today, it's a huge weight off my shoulder, but I just don't care enough to put everything in it's place on a daily basis.

2.  I use dollar tree brand creamy vaseline lotion on my hands and face everyday.  It's only a buck but it sure is awesome.  Works like a charm, all the smelly expensive stuff just drys my skin out.

3.  My laptop screen is broken so I'm ghetto and propped it open with a box on our dining room table.  Clearly it is working just fine because I am sitting here enjoying my coffee and blogging.  It just looks stupid.  Oh well.  I'm ghetto fabulous {can I get an award for that please??}.

4.  I call my mom all day everyday.  Even though she lives a 1 minute walk away if we don't hear from each other by mid-day we are calling to "just check on" each other.  It's kinda sad, but I love my mommy and we chat wayy too much some days.

5.  I am currently burning a new candle - it's a Gold Canyon Carmel Ginger Strudel one - oh soo yummy!!

6.  A guy I now, not really friends with anymore though, was on the news for a DUI yesterday - he hit a parked car and then went back and started drinking again.  Got arrested and he is a teacher here.  Nice huh?  Too strange to see someone you know and had at your wedding on the news with a mug shot.

7.  My facts suck.  Yes, that is indeed a fact - don't judge me.  :)

Pass it On:

15?? Ouch, who decided that, that is a lot of linking to do. I'm gonna just cheat and be lame... all you lovely ladies are welcome to take this award. Really all the blog I read are versatile. I love reading about kids one day, a recipe the next and something more serious and heartfelt on another day. I think it's important to not just stick to one type of blogging everyday!

The other award I was given this week is this one:

I already have it so I won't do it again, but thank you soo much to Gina for thinking of me!  Soo sweet.  Go check her out for yourself!

My Beautiful Boy!

Isn't he just delish?  Oh I could stare at him all day.  Oh wait... I do!  I'll post more of these pictures {taken today} on Sunday for his 7 month post.  This one however is up for a BEAUTIFUL baby picture contest over on Parenting By Dummies.  I'll post a link to get all your lovely votes in another week or so, but for now, just take a gander at the picture I chose to submit.  Look at those dark brown eyes!  *swoon*

Blogger Awards!

The Kreativ Blogger Award Rules:
1. Post the award. {Done!}

2. Thank and mention the person who gave you the award.  {I got this lovely award from Kim at "Who Needs Sleep" - go check her out!  Thank you Kim!  She has a cute little boy named Aiden too - he is roughly a month younger than my little guy!}

3. Pass the award on to seven blogs who you think embody the spirit of the Kreativ Blogger Award.
Mommy's Sippy CupMoments & ImpressionsAll Work & No Play...,  The Seattle Smith'sMake It & Love ItLoves of LifeNot Your Mama's Martha

4. Name seven things about yourself that others don't know.
  1. I want my hair to be long enough to cover my nipples - again.  It took 3 years for it to get this way before and then I went and cut it really short!  It's been about 16 months of growing it back out now, getting closer!
  2. I watch Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) everyday, and have been watching it daily for 15 years now.
  3. I have a birthmark on my bum - it's small though.
  4. I can't parallel park - like at all.  I suck at it, I panic over it, I will circle and circle to avoid doing it or even pay for parking if that is an option.  I've even parked 4+ blocks away instead of parallel parking right in front of the building.  It scares me!
  5. I want to write a book about my life, even more so now that I'm surviving PPD.
  6. I'm a plant killer, I totally have a black thumb.
  7. I can pop my right hip in an out of socket and it got really bad when I was preggo, but it is better now than it eve has been.  Strange, I think maybe when my hips/pelvis resettled after Aiden was born it clicked something back in for me!
5. Don't forget to notify your seven bloggers about their award and post a link to their blog. {Done!}

Share 10 random things about myself and then pass this award on to 10 of my favorite bloggers.
Thanks to Mommy's Sippy Cup {aka Jessica} for this award!

I've already done this award once so i won't go through the whole thing again, but THANK YOU again for the award.  If you were listed above and already have that one, but not this one, take it instead!  Heck, take them both ladies!!

Blog Award!

A big thanks to Care at The Exposed Mom for this little award.

Here are the rules...

1) Post where you want to be in 10 years (yikes)

Oh boy 10 years seems to far away.  Let's see here 10 years from now I see myself with 3 or 4 kids *gasp*.  I am hoping for at least 1 girl, honestly I see myself with a house full of boys so I will say 3 boys and the baby will be a little girl.  All the boys will be protective of her.  I hope to have myself published at least 5 times - either online magazines, real magazines etc.  Doesn't have to be something special, just something.  I have 1 out of 5 already done too!  We will have a house, 2 cars and a dog.  I don't want the dog, but I know Kris will win that arguement.  I hope to still be active in my own hobbies like sewing and scrapbooking and be an active stay at home mom.  By that I mean PTA, soccor mom, field trip mom etc.  Oh and I will be a healthy size 10.

2) Pass it on to 10 of your BF's (Blog friends)

10 seems to be a bit much when I don't have 10 that regularly comment even.  I tried to just give the last award away and not a single person even took it or left a comment on the post.  So I will try again.  The first 5 people to comment can have this award.  Seriously, if you don't have this award you should because all the blogs I read and ladies who follow me are inspiring to me as a friend and writer.  So comment and take it with pride.  or don't and make me look dumb again for not even successfully giving away an award... lol

McFatty Monday! A BIG CHANGE HERE....

I have made a new blog!  It's going to be just for my weight loss.  A few days this week I wanted to write about my weight, what I'd done that day etc. but I don't want to weigh down (sorry for the pun) my regular blog with all my weight troubles.  Sometimes is okay, but I'd rather have a seperate place just to share and connect with the few of you interested in my weight journey.

So without further ado my 2nd blog.... Kerri-ing Excess Weight.  My Journey to get fit.  Follow it, take the button (code on the new site), or don't.  Up to you!  Click below to see my great weight loss this week AND to read about my applying for The Biggest Loser?!?

You Like Me! A bloggy award...

Somebody gave me a new award!  And by somebody I mean somebody GOOD... it was the lovely gal over at "Really?  I'm a Mom?".  She's another new mom just like me, and she is going through the dreaded teething too!  Poor thing!  Anyway, she obviously thought I was good enough for this pretty little number, which I appreciate very much.  So thank you.  Go take a look at her blog, if nothing else, look at the cute little one - who doesn't love baby pictures?   She calls her son a monkey just like we do to Aiden, I'm not gonna lie, it makes me like her even more!

Ok here are the rules:

1. Put the award in your post or within your blog.
2. Pass the award onto 12 fellow bloggers.

3. Link the nominees within your post.

4. Let the nominees know they have received this award by leaving a comment on their blogs.

5. Share the love and link to the person who gave you the award! Now, to pass this award on to 12 bloggers who bring a little sunshine to my day!

12 people... geez this seems like a lot of work to link to people.  Sorry ladies, I'm too tired to go put together all the links.  Soo... umm, the first 12 ladies to comment on this post get the award!  Not that I actually think 12 of you will comment, but you may surprise me... Woot.  Now, go comment and tell me you are taking it!!  Quick... don't all rush to leave a comment at once..... Go....

Happy 101 Award....

I received this little award from Laura over at the luckiest this weekend.  I have seen this award floating around the bloggy world and always thought it was soo cute with the cupcakes - well now I can call it mine own!  The idea is to list 10 things that make you happy and then pass it on!
  1. My husband.  I could give you a ton of reasons why, but really I don't need to.  I just love him
  2. Aiden.  That's also a given.  He just makes me soo happy.
  3. Coffee - should also be a given, I have at least a cup a day - just heard the pot kick on now!
  4. My blog world.  I love having a place to be honest about my feelings, to share with others, to admit hard things like my current McFatty Monday's post, and to laugh and cry with all of you.
  5. Reading a good book.  I love to cry when I read a book, or find myself gasping out loud.
  6. Digging out the flip flops after a long winter.  Oh how I love my cheap Old Navy colored ones... yay for spring and painted toe nails!
  7. Target.  I just love me some Target.  We are boring people, last time we went we got formula and file folders and post it notes... but I NEVER pass up a chance to wander around and look!
  8. Working on Crafts.  I am learning to sew things and love doing so when I have the time.  I have a few projects lined up to get to.  Also I used to scrapbook a lot and if it weren't such a hassle to dig stuff out and then put it all away I'd work on it often.  One day I want a "craft room".
  9. Fall leaves and a fire in the fire place.  I am glad spring is here, or at least getting close, but I do always look forward to the changing colors and crackling of a fire burning.
  10. Sushi.  Oh I love me some sushi.  If it weren't soo expensive we'd have it every day in this house.
I could have put down a lot more, like the obvious family, friends, spending time together, wearing sweats etc... but I tried to tell you something new.  Now, to pass it on...

Valentine's Day - Love Swap!

Katie at Loves of Life set up a Valentine's Day swap and I of course jumped in for some fun!  My swap partner was Kelly at Brown Eyed Girl (sorry, her blog is private now!) and I think we were a good match considering it was all random!  We emailed back and forth a few times to get to know each other and she did a great job getting my package together!  I was soo thrilled when I opened it.
Inside I found the following:

  • French Vanilla Cafe' instant drink.  Which came in handy the other day when I was out of coffee mate and still needed my daily fix!  I hadn't had this before but it was really good.

  • Vanilla Cupcake lip gloss - which OMG tastes really good.  I don't know how well it helps the lips, I licked it off too quick ha

  • Red nail polish, which is fast drying - awesome because my nails are in need of some love.

  • Fern Michaels book Yesterday.  I told her about my book a month challenge so now I have another one to add to my list for the year.  I have never read Fern Michaels books but it seems like it's similar to Danielle Steel which as you may know I have read like 40 of her books!

  • Last but not least the best thing EVER... the WORLD'S LARGEST PEANUT BUTTER CUP!  They are soo heavy, and are 8oz each!  It took Kris and I 3 days to share just 1 of the 2 cups.  Each cup is about 1.5 inches high which means 1 inch worth of peanut butter.  AMAZING.  Seriously, I'm still in awe of it's size.
Last thing to mention is her sweet card.  It was just a simple hope you enjoy these and give yourself a treat, but I LOVED her hand writing.  I know that is really silly, but I hate my own hand writing so I enjoy seeing other people's print.  Kris thinks I'm silly for noticing, but the way she writes her K's was neat.  Stupid yes, but I had to share.  :)

Feb. 3rd - Blogroll Amnesty Day!

February 3rd is Blogroll Amnesty Day. Basically you post 5 links to little known blogs that could use some bloggy-love.  I found this through the grapevine and it seems easy enough to participate.  So here we go, I encourage you all to do a simple post doing the same.  Especially those with hundred's of reader - pass them around ladies!

Musings From Mt. Rogo - This is where I first heard about the blogroll.  I recently found her blog through the SITS community and have loved her posts since.  She's anything but boring, so go take a gander.

I'm a REAL LIFE mom - I just love this blog.  She is a down to earth kind of blogger.  She is funny, she is honest, she has 2 cute little boys and she is religious.  Don't let that scare you off if you aren't, I just like that she shares my passion for wholesome programing and turning to prayer in times of need.  Plus her hubs is this youth group leader/rockstar (at least thats how I picutre him!)

A Day in the Life of Oakies... - This is a blogger that I don't even know how I found her, maybe she commented on me?  Who knows, but she cracks me up.  She is generous with awards, she is good with comment love and I feel like I fit in with her redneck life.

Brown Eyed Girl - Okay so she doesn't need anymore readers (i kid...) she has like 3 times my readership.  However, thanks to the love swap I'm doing she is my partner, and she has an awesome blog.  She seems super sweet and she deserves to be gushed about.  Go check her out - and bring back more readers will ya??

Another Joyous Journey - The is a fellow mommy blogger.  Her little boy Jackson is the cutest thing, next to Aiden of course.  She's part of the SITS family too so you know you will be in good company when you go read her posts.  If nothing else, go look at that little one of hers - he's adorable.

Did that in step 1...
4) Tell us 7 interesting things about yourself.

  1. I hate, Hate, HATE wet hairs on me in the shower. I seriously spend half my shower every day, or every other day now, taking the wet hairs off me. I can feel them instantly and they drive me insane!
  2. I like candles, but I never lite them. Not sure why, I have them on the coffee table, fireplace mantel, window ledge, kitchen etc, yet I always forget to lite them.
  3. Root Beer is my favorite pop - especially ice cold Barq's
  4. I'm a neat freak, but I'm too lazy to keep things clean. So instead I have a freak out every few days about how messy the place is. *sigh*
  5. I love a good deal. I love finding clothes on sale and I currently have 60 jars of baby food for my son, who doesn't even start solids for another month. What can I say - they were 3 for $1!
  6. The only wine I enjoy is the fruity Arbor Mist kind. Sad I know, but it's just soo darn yummy, and like $4 a bottle.
  7. I eat a piece of chocolate everyday. I clearly am NOT on track for losing this baby weight. Whoops!

5) Nominate 7 bloggers.
I'm going to be lame here - it seems to be a trend lately. I'm too busy to go pick people and then link them and then tell them - I have a baby on my hip right now people... SO... If you read my blog, don't have this award yet, and leave me a COMMENT on THIS post... the award is yours! Small price to pay isn't it??
6) Post links to the 7 blogs I nominate

So here are the rules.
1. Get nominated.

I got nominated for this award by Alisha (&Matt) over at A Day In The Life of Okie Rednecks!
2. Tag 7 other totally awesome bloggers.
Again I'm gonna cheat on this one - if you read my blog and leave me a comment on THIS post... you get the award! Simple. If you haven't had this award yet please take it, just pass it on!
3. Tell TEN completely honest facts about yourself in your blog.

  1. I don't shower every day - mostly because of that annoying wet hair thing... lol
  2. I don't know how to cut a lot of different fruits (pineapples, mangos, cantaloupe) even though I love them. I also make Kris peel all my oranges, I hate the stuff under my nails - I tell him I don't know how to peel them, whoops...
  3. My hubby kicks my ass in Monopoly EVERY TIME we play, yet I secretly love it, and I feel really bad the few times I get ahead in the game.
  4. I'm still behind in making my aprons for friends for Christmas - they know I'm working on them though, oh well.
  5. I have a ped egg - and love it.
  6. My son had his first big poop up the back today. We hadn't changed him in 2 hours, which is never a problem, but clearly today was a bad day. I couldn't help but laugh but I kept telling him I was sorry I didn't notice sooner - we are sick in this house and have no sense of smell!
  7. I was afraid of pooping during delivery - this was all talked about before on my blog - and I made a joke during my emergency c-section about how at least now I won't poop and never will during labor the rest of my life. It still makes me giggle, and very happy!
  8. I hate watching MonterQuest on tv with my hubby, we have watched a crap-ton of it lately - I don't believe in Aliens, Lake Monsters or Big Foot... bleh.
  9. I hung up a big "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" banner above our sliding door in August for Kris' bday - it's still hanging up today. We used the excuse it stayed up for my bday this month, but that's a load of crap and well, it will probably stay up until his bday now lol.
  10. I have sock monkey slippers and am wearing them now.

Julie & Julia

So I have been meaning to see this movie for awhile. I got it last night and am only halfway through it right now as I type. I must say, I'm enjoying it. I didn't think i would, I honestly thought it seemed a bit boring. My mom suggested it, and I'd heard other bloggers say it was worth the watch. I agree - it's a great watch if you are a blogger.

Julie talks about how she had 57 comments and she didn't know who they were and she was soo excited. Boy that's how I feel. I know I got caught up, and I do still want more readers, but this made me giggle. There is just something special about a stranger finding your words appealing.

I do love how she had a goal, she made her blog all about one topic. I know mine is all about me, my son, my husband, my life... but I almost feel like i should do a mini blog, like a 1 day a week post, where I focus on something else. I am getting my sewing machine at Christmas, perhaps it will be a crafty segment. Perhaps it will be about being thrifty... who knows.

ANYWAY - my son is now calling - I would suggest you go watch this movie!

I'm a D-list blogger.

Woe is me. No one knows my name (blog), guess I should eat some worms? *sigh*

So last night on thebump some of us lesser known bumpies (I'm KMS1025 if you care) were talking about how we feel like our opinions and questions don't matter much. For example, I could post a very important question about say, a sick baby - is this temp too high, was that too much spit up, is this reflux etc. and get maybe 50 views and 3 comments in response. A more popular bumpie (for the record I like the popular bumpies, they just hardly know me lol) could post something like "ugh, nothing good is on tv" and they will get 500 views and like 30 responses to it. Seriously? For what it's worth, when I type random posts like that I still don't get the responses or views that they do, i'm just picking random examples here people, please follow along.

I still post often, but I hardly ever admit to things because I fear being "flamed". Now I can't figure out for the life of me why an almost 26yr old mom (my bday is Jan 5 if you are keeping track) and wife is soo concerned with what thousands of online ladies think of me. Perhaps it's because I was always fat and the outsider in school, I still have that need to be liked and fit in? Problem is, I don't fit in. I'm not always worried about a slight fever or the amount of poop or color of it for the day. I'm just not the type to call the pedi all day long for questions about if it's safe to let Aiden meet Santa this year. He did, and it was a mall santa, and I didn't think twice about it. Also if you read my previous posts, you'll see how I allow my son to sleep on his tummy, which *gasp* other ladies would NEVER let their child do. That's fine, I understand, but that's why he's my son. Hey, we need sleep in this house people and I believe God will do what he wants in my life no matter what I do!

SO I just don't share on thebump like I wish I would. When I started on thebump I was 15 weeks preggo. I think I was left out from the start because I never was asking if I could eat hot dogs, or saying how much I missed my one can of diet coke a day. I ate nothing BUT hot dogs for a week this summer, I had sushi, I had up to 2 cups of coffee a day (per my dr for my headaches) I used Tylenol PM to sleep every night etc. I just am not the type to call my dr all the time for a funny feeling etc. I just trust my instincts. I know that people 50 years ago didn't have all these restrictions about hot dogs - why should I stress over it now? I just didn't "fit" the normal pregnant lady on thebump. Oh, and I had a crap-ton of stretch marks before pregnancy, so I didn't whine "over 1 on my hip!", eh, I look like a cat used me for a scratching post people. Guess what, 2 month post baby and my hubby still loves me and dare I say it, makes love to me just like before I was all stretched out and flabbier than usual.

All of this led to another online factor of popularity... blogging. Yep, we all were being "sad and sorry for ourselves" as my husband would say. We were talking about how we blog for ourselves, and it's great to be read by ANYONE, but we always want more. One lady said she saw someone else have a D-list blog button. I need one! We all said "oh, i'll follow you if you follow me" etc. Sad thing is, even among the lesser-known fellow woe is me women... I followed 4 new blogs and gained 1 new follower. That is life, you give some and get less.

Now I do love my blog, I love sharing my thoughts, my photos, funny stories, or just have some place to vent. I do have some wonderful readers, active readers at that, who comment often, share opinions with me, and I've even gotten 1 award and 1 spotlight at BellyItch! I would have hoped the spotlight would have brought me more readers though...

I write this today because I am near my 200th post. I want it to be special. I want to have more readers. I want to be "popular". I want to have a giveaway. I can't do anything grand because I don't get, or know how to get for that matter (leave a message if you can help with this) free products to review for my readers. I would love to do some reviews, but I don't know how to get started. Point is, I want more blog love. My goal for the end of the year, which is fast approaching, is to go from 48 followers, to say 75. Is that asking too much? I want people to ACTUALLY read my blog too - you know, FOLLOW it.... if you read this, please don't just hit follow to help my numbers, that still wouldn't make me bump up to a C-list blogger.

So there you have it. My woe is me, I'm not popular, I want to be a "real" blogger post. Now, i'm off to hold Aiden - cuz I'm like, totally popular with him!

Thank You bloggers! Plus an Award!!

I just wanted to write a separate post to say THANK YOU to all my fellow bloggers. The comments are usually from the same few, but this last week I have been told congrats, and good luck, and sent happy labor vibes from a lot of you bloggers. I really appreciate everyone thinking about us and keeping us in your thoughts. I never thought I would be excited for strangers or feel the passion I do for a lot of your in your posts, but I do. You are my friends, and I am soo blessed that all you ladies are soo excited for our big arrival. I am lucky. Thank you for listening to my rants and blogs filled with nothing but random blabs and of course all the baby stuff.

Next I would like to accept an award, that I kinda asked for (but not really, I swear I'm not THAT lame....) from Ashley over at Kiwis & Cocktails. Ashley and I just started following each other recently but I have grown to love her posts and comments very quickly. Maybe it's her writing style, perhaps it's that she is a WW member (as I soon will be again), but really she's just easy going and cool. She gave me the Kreativ Blogger award. I will do that now before it gets lost amongst new baby pics this week... so THANK YOU ASHLEY!!

Rules for this Award:
1-Thank the person who nominated you for this award. (Thank you Ashley)
2-Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3-Link to the person who nominated you for this award. (link in paragraph above)
4-Name 7 things about yourself that people may not know.

  1. I have a birth mark on my butt
  2. I skipped Kindergarten cuz I was too "bored" there
  3. I joined TWITTER but don't really know why. I don't have Internet on my phone so it seems pointless if I am just gonna update my blog and facebook anyway? Help me?
  4. I can NOT parallel park at all. I'm soo bad at it
  5. I gag brushing my teeth every day. Have for years, so does my papa, it's strange and people pick on me for it. Sometimes Kris will walk by and start making awful gagging noises just to make me laugh.
  6. I want to write a book one day. Either about my entire life (I have tons of funny stories and sad tragic moments and lots of advice people may enjoy) or about my struggles with weight and eating disorders. I'm thinking a life book in the form of a novel would be best. I doubt I will ever really do this, but I think about it often which is why I started a blog - to be able to just write my random thoughts.
  7. I hardly ever change our bedroom sheets.

5-Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers

  1. The Kipper Family
  2. Livin.Lovin.Laughin with Lillian
  3. Always On My Mind
  4. The High Heeled Mama
  5. My So Called Life
  6. Another Joyous Journey
  7. Loves of Life

6-Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7-Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they've been nominated
