UPDATE UPDATE
Wow, after several years ive decided to try and resurrect this little blog of mine. I recently told a friend I missed having a place to write. Then out of nowhere a blog "challenge" if you will came about on a public group im in. So here I am and I'm going to try and keep this thing going. Bare with me as I make changes and update content. Feel free to sift through my old posts, you just might learn something new about me....
Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. It steals your memory. It steals your mind. It steals your body. It can't steal your love though. Sure you don't always remember people, or places, or the date or what is going on, but you always remember the love you feel inside. Little boys have a way of bring it back to you more clearly.
Every time Aiden visits my grandma it is like he brings everything back to her. She knows who we all are. She seems to just light up. She talks baby talk to Aiden. She knows who my grandpa is and kept holding his hands and crying saying "don't go". She said I love you to all of us. She kissed my cheek. She cried happy tears because she knew us all, and she cried sad tears when we left.
It may be hard to see her, because she is only a shell most days, not the person I remember. Her hair was always styled and dyed red, but not anymore. Then there are visits like this when I bring Aiden with us and it brings her back. It makes it just a little easier to come back again, knowing she really is still in there somewhere.
Here are some pictures from our visit this week.
We haven't been getting the big storms like the East has, but we got a little snow storm this week. Here are some pictures of Aiden enjoying the snow. He even tried to make snow angels with me. He loved it!
This is a month old by now, his hair is already growing out now and starting to curl again. However, I never got the pictures posted. And as any proud mama does, I want to show them off! So without further ado, here is Aiden's first real haircut, courtesy of his Daddy!
Took Aiden for a little walk on Saturday with my Mom and the dog. It was such a nice day outside. A bit cold, but nice and sunny. We took the dog for a walk and he even helped carry the poop bags!
Ooh La la - hubby got new glasses too! I happen to think he is SUPER sexy here. I actually like his hair grown out and these glasses better than his hair shaved short. What do you think? Those meds are giving me a sexy improved husband!
