How is this for McFatty Monday:
I haven't worked out in almost 2 weeks.
I had a McDonald's Double Cheeseburger Meal with an extra double cheeseburger for lunch today. Plus a root beer.
Yep - I FAIL.
Tomorrow I am determined to start back on working out. I don't *think* I have gained much if any weight because my eating habits have been good (minus today's lunch of course). Now that I am starting to feel better mentally I am hoping to get back on track physically too. So here is to next weeks post - I WILL weigh in AND post pictures! I MUST.

6 Months!
6 Months!
I can't believe it's already been half a year since Aiden was born. It feels like it was just yesterday. Isn't that the cliche' that all moms say? Well I now understand it! In 6 more months I'm going ot be having a 1st birthday party - that is just crazy and exciting all in one! I would be lying if I didn't say I have already starting thinking about birthday party themes. For example he is a huge Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan, but I also thought orange and blue would be pretty and boyish, but the orange would be great for an October party... who knows. Anyway let's go over his latest milestones shall we?
Height: 19 1/4 inches long (97%)
Weight: 22lbs even (98%)
He can roll over both ways like crazy
He can "scoot" himself around but not crawling yet
He can sit for up to a couple minutes on his own before falling over
He trys to pull himself up all the time
He talks all the time like his mom
He recently learned to blow bubbles with his mouth

He is a fan of hitting, hitting your hands, his legs, the highchair, his toys, the cell phone to light it up, the remote controls.... you get the point
He will grab your glasses off your face in 1.5 seconds
He loves all solid foods and has started trying some table foods
He wears all 9 month clothes and some 12 month items
He is in size 4 diapers already
He is starting to "throw tantrums" when he wants something or doesn't want to be put to bed - this means he kicks hard (sometimes the side of his crib) and screams until you look at him, then he puts on the charm and smiles.
He reaches for people to pick him up
He recently learned he can eat his toes - this happened on the 9th, exactly 6 months.

Book Review: A Ship Made of Paper
Daniel Emerson lives with Kate Ellis and is like a father to her daughter, Ruby. But he cannot control his desire for Iris Davenport, the African-American woman whose son is Ruby's best friend. During a freak October blizzard, Daniel is stranded at Iris's house and they begin a sexual liaison that eventually imperils all their relationships, Daniel's profession, their children's well-being, their own race- blindness, and their view of themselves as essentially good people. A Ship Made of Paper captures all the drama, nuance, and helpless intensity of sexual and romantic yearning, and it bears witness to the age-old conflict between the order of the human community and the disorder of desire. It was a very quick read and I would suggest it to anyone. I will say however that I was not a huge fan of the ending. It was one of those that left you deciding what happened on your own. It hints at the authors plan for the characters, but I personally like the end of a book to have a clear end. None of this "make up your own ending". That is the only thing I would change about this book.

Lunch Date with the Hubby
The hubs has been really great since I went to the Dr. He suggested that we take some time for a date. So we had my mom babysit Aiden for a couple hours and we went out for our favorite food ever - sushi! Our favorite local place is Hot Pot 'n Sushi. Everything is super fresh and it's a nice quiet place.
When we get sushi we sure do know how to eat it well. We always have stacks of plates and really full tummy's when we leave. We scaled it back today to save some money, we can eat more than this if we plan for it to be our main meal of the day! Oh well, a sushi treat is good no matter how many pieces you enjoy!
I even tried a new roll today. We both did actually. It was an asparagus roll. It had a blanched asparagus, and cream cheese. Then it was rolled and had tempura and spicy sauce on it. Very good. It's the roll on the bottom right in my photo just so you get an idea.
We also stopped by Target to get a few things and then wandered around Ikea and Michael's craft store. All in all I think it was just what the Dr. ordered. A nice few hours away from home, no baby stress, just me and the hubs enjoying some casual time together.
