Broken Toe Oh My!

As if I didn't waddle enough, I broke a toe yesterday.....

In short my left leg cramped up when I was changing positions in my sleep around 8am. I jumped out of bed to "walk it off" as I often do when my leg cramps up these days. Well, I got on my feet on the side of my bed, and just as quickly my entire left leg went stiff and gave out under me. So down I went with a big thud onto my thankfully well cushioned butt, and of course my left leg curled up under me too. I spent the next 5 minutes in a lot of pain trying to move my leg and well, not getting very far since it was still cramped up. I finally pull myself up onto the bed and manage to relax my leg a bit, this is when I panic a bit. I start concentrating on baby, he's totally moving around fine, my butt didn't even hurt from falling on it. At this point I notice that my pinky toe on my left foot is THROBBING - it hurt soo badly. So I reach over and take tylenol and text the hubs to tell him what happened. He offered to come home but I just told him to work and I would stay in bed and sleep it off.

Next thing I know I'm being woken up an hour later by my mom. Kris has called and texted her to tell her I fell and hurt myself and it was swollen and he was worried. Now of course mom is worried, I mean I am almost 30 weeks pregnant. I tried to assure her (and him) I was just gonna stay in bed, I'd get up and put ice on it and rest. I made sure they both knew that I didn't fall far, I landed on my butt, baby was moving, no pain or anything like that associated with him, just a toe. Her and my hubs would have none of this, so she picked me up and I spent the day being babysat by my mommy until Kris got home.

Oh and NO I didn't go to the ER. Waste of money, I've broken toes before, it's blue and purple and a little swollen and hurts a lot and I can't walk well. It's broken and the most they will do is tape it to the next toe and tell me to ice, elevate and Tyelnol. I didn't fall far, just hard on my foot, and I didn't hit my back or belly and Aiden has been moving just like always, trust me I've been making sure. Nothing to fear, but it sure isn't pretty. I tried to take a picture to share with you all, but I couldn't bend down far enough to really get a good shot. Too bad for you. Good thing I can only see it when I prop my foot up but I don't even get a close up of it's glory.
